1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 c. apple sauce
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. raisins
1 c. nuts (pecans).
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º F.

Mix first 3 ingredients thoroughly with mixer. Mix flour with salt, soda and spices. Put 1/2 c. flour mixture with raisins and nuts. Stir to coat. Add flour to mixture and mix well. Stir in raisin nut mixture.

place on cookie sheet. 1TBSP per cookie. Bake until browned around the edges. I'm guessing about 7-9 minutes, but watch closely.

This is a recipe from Auntie (Leona). There were no direction given. It had several marks from where food had spilled on it.The directions are my best guess at how to mix and bake.
