3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. peanut butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. sugar
4 T. milk
2 t. vanilla
3 large eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
2 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped walnuts/pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream together shortening, brown sugar, sugar, milk, vanilla and eggs. In a separate mixing bowl mix flour, soda, and salt. Blend into batter. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by heaping tablespoon onto un-greased cookie sheet. Bake 9-11 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.
