1 Cup shortening
1/2 Cup Butter
1 1/2 Cup Sugar
3 Eggs
3 tsp Vanilla extract
4 1/2 Cups Flour
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, butter and sugar until smooth. Add vanilla and eggs 1 at a time and mix thoroughly. Sift together dry ingredients and fold into the sugar/shortening mixture. Cover and chill at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 425*
Roll chilled dough on flour dusted surface to about 1/8". Cut with your favorite shapes and bake on Ungreased cookie sheet at 424º for about 7 minutes.

I have had this recipe for years. I can't believe i actually thought to ask Grandma Little for it as a teen! She was one amazing cook!
