1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sour milk
4 c. oatmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. flour
1 pkg. mincemeat
4 tbsp. wine
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add sour milk and oatmeal. Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick and cut with large biscuit cutter.

Combine mincemeat, wine, sugar, and lemon juice together in a saucepan. simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes. Add chopped nuts. Water may be added if mixture needs while cooking.

Drop a spoonful of filling on circles of dough. Cover with another circlet., pinching sides together. Bake in 350º oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not brown. Store in tin container in freezer.
