Cookie:
3 C flour
1 tsp nutmeg
1 C butter
3/4 C sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp rum flavoring


Frosting:
Cream 3 Tbs butter with 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp rum.
Blend in 1/2 C Powdered sugar beating well.
Add 2 C more Powdered sugar alternating with 2 - 3 Tbs
evaporated milk or cream beating well after each addition.

Oven 350º
Sift together the flour and nutmeg
Cream the butter and gradually add the sugar. Cream well.
Blend in the egg, vanilla and rum flavoring.
Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Shape pieces of dough on lightly floured surface into long rolls - 1/2" diameter- Cut into 3" pieces. Place on UNGREASED baking sheet. Make Frosting
Bake 12 - 15min. or until golden brown. Spread Frosting on tops and sides of cookies. Mark frosting with tines of fork to resemble bark. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
