Ingredients:  
1 cup sugar
¾ c. lard
4 T. molasses, sorghum or substitute
1 egg
1 ½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 t.sp cinnamon
¼ tsp. salt
2 cups flour
sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix above ingredients. Let stand 20 minutes.
Add 2 cups flour, roll into balls the size of a hickory nut.
Coat with sugar.
Bake in medium oven for 10 minutes.
Cool and store in a stone jar.
