12 to 18 slices of buttered bread (crusts trimmed)

Filling:

1 pound of lean ground beef
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 cup grated cheese
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 beaten egg
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Butter bread (with crusts trimmed). Place buttered side down in muffin tins.

Mix filling well and place on bread.

Bake at 350º F. for 35 minutes.

Great for lunch. They freeze well.

This simple recipe came from Anne Campbell. Combined with a salad these "tarts" make a quick and easy lunch. They remind me of mini-meat loaves.
