1 lb. chorizo sausage
2 chipotle chilies, finely diced
2 c. diced onion
1 1/2 c. chopped poblano pepper or jalapeno
1 1/2 c. chopped red bell pepper
5 minced, garlic cloves
2 T. chili powder
1 1/2 T. ground cumin
1 1/2 t. dried oregano
1 T. fresh lime juice
1/8 t. ground cinnamon
3 (15 oz.) cans black beans, drained
3 (14 oz.) cans petite diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (8.5 oz.) bag of frozen corn
1 1/2 oz. semisweet chocolate
salt and pepper to taste

Garnishes: sour cream, scallions, tortilla chips or strips

Brown chorizo in a large pot. Add chili, onions, peppers and garlic; sauté 5 minutes. Add chili powder and next 7 ingredients (thru corn). Bring to a boil. Stir in chocolate, season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 30 minutes to one hour. Serve with garnishes.

I omitted the corn and cooked it in a crock pot. I added water or tomato sauce to thin it down.
