100 g lima beans
1.5 lt. vegetable broth
1 bay leaf
50 g bacon
1 onion
2 tsp. flour
pinch ground spicy red pepper
100 g root vegetable (carrots, rutabaga, etc.)
salt to taste
2 cloves
2 garlic cloves

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix pre-soaked beans and broth; add the bay leaf and cook until beans are almost tender.
2. Chop bacon and coarsely chop onions; fry together until bacon is crisp. Sprinkle with flour, paprika and add to the broth and beans. Add chopped root vegetables, garlic and cloves. Season with salt and simmer.
3. Serve when the root vegetables are tender.
Optional: serve over cooked noodles for a heartier meal.
