1 stick butter
1/2 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
2 cups plain flour
1 cup buttermilk
5 egg yolks
1 tsp baking soda
5 egg whites beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup coconut

Icing:
1 8oz cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
1 box 10x powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, Crisco, and sugar. Add egg yolks, flour, and baking soda. Add to mixture with buttermilk, flour (1st and last). Stir in pecans and coconut - fold in egg whites.

Bake in three 9 in cake pans at 350º for 20 minutes or until done.

Icing:
Mix all ingredients and spread between layers, tops, and sides.
