12 cucumbers medium size
6 onions
2c sugar
2 c vinegar
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp celery seed
2 tsp mustard seed

Directions:
Directions:
Slice cucumbers and onions and let stand in salted water 2 hours. 2 c salt.
Mix sugar, cornstarch and spices with vinegar and bring to boil. Boil 1 min.
Drain cucumbers and onions from salt water and add to boiling brine and heat thoroughly.
Pack in sterilized jars

Cindy says this is her Great Grandmother, Carrie Miller Tonyon, recipe. Cindy tells a story that when Jason was 9-11 yrs old they all went to Illinois to visit. Her Aunt gave her several jars of these pickles to take home. Before they got out of the state, Jason had eaten them all!!
