1 c. molasses
½ c. soft shortening
2¼ cups enriched flour
1¾ tsp. Baking powder
1 tsp salt
1½ tsp ginger

Beat together until blended (about 1 minute)

Sift together and stir in 2¼ cups enriched flour

1 tsp salt
1½ tsp ginger

Allow dough to stand at room temperature 20 to 30 minutes (until possible to handle). Roll very thin (1/16”) on lightly floured, cloth covered board. Cut rounds with a floured cookie cutter (2¼ in. diameter). Place on greased heavy baking sheet. Bake about 7 minutes in moderate oven (350). Yield about 6 doz.
