1 c. flour
2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. shortening
1 c. molasses
1 egg
3/4 + 1/4 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda
Baked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, brown sugar, and shortening together.
Reserve 1/2 c. for top of pie
To remaining crumbs, add molasses, egg (slightly beaten), and 3/4 c. hot water.
Mix well.
Add 1 tsp. baking soda to 1/4 c. hot water and add to above.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Top with reserved crumbs.
Baked at 350-375º.
