Notes from Cheryl Clippinger Rechtor:

TIP: One cake of yeast equals 3 envelopes yeast.

These rolls are very yummy!! The first time I made these, my Dad (James Mark Clippinger) ate 3 of them as soon as they came out of the oven! He said Grandma's rolls (his mother's) were the best ever!! He also said she used to make extra to sell at market.

This is how I put these together: Mix salt with the flour and set aside. Mix lukewarm water with the yeast, and stir till dissolved. Add sugar and melted lard, stir to mix. Add flour mixture, and stir to mix. Put in greased bowl and cover with tea towel. See directions above. In my oven, 18 to 20 minutes was plenty of time to bake.
