1/2 c shortening
1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
3 eggs unbeaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c mincemeat
3 1/4 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 c raisins
1 c chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 190ºC (375ºF) (moderate). Cream sugars, butter and shortening. Add eggs and vanilla and combine well. Add mincemeat to creamed mixture and mix well. Combine flour, salt, soda and cinnamon and add to creamed mixture. Add raisins and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheets and bake for 12 to 15 min or until done.
