2 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups chocolate chip -- (12 oz. package)
1 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in small bowl.

Beat shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla in large bowl until creamy.

Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.

Gradually beat in flour mixture.

Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 375 degrees F for 9-11 minutes.
