12 lb. hamburger
24 medium onions, chopped
12 eggs, slightly beaten
1 lb. crackers, reduced to crumbs
1 bottle catsup
2 qt. tomato juice
1/4 cup salt (or to taste)
2 tbsp. chili powder (or 1 pkg. chili seasoning)
1/4 cup sweet pickle vinegar

Brown hamburger and drain grease. Cook onions until tender. Stir hamburger, onions, crackers, eggs, catsup, tomato juice, salt, chili powder and pickle vinegar together. Simmer to blend flavors. Serve on toasted buns.

This recipe was used many times at the Potwin Lions Club Watermelon Feed and at farm sales the Potwin Methodist Church served. The recipe is from the Potwin Senior Study Club Cookbook of 1949. It states the yield is 200.
