2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 cup shortening
4 T. cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. red food coloring

Fudge Frosting:
1 stick butter or margarine
4 T. cocoa
6 T. milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 cup coconut
1 cup nuts
Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and sugar together in a large bowl. Set aside.

Put into a saucepan, butter, shortening, cocoa, and water. Bring to rapid boil. Pour over the flour and sugar mixture. Mix well.

Add buttermilk, beaten eggs, vanilla, soda, and food coloring. Mix well.

Pour into floured and greased cake pan (sheet cake pan) and bake at 400º
for 30 minutes. Batter will be thin.

About 5 minutes before the cake is done, melt the stick of butter, cocoa, and milk in a saucepan and bring to rapid boil. Take off the heat and add powdered sugar, coconut, and nuts. Put frosting on the cake while it is still hot.
