2 1/3 cup flour
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup Karo syrup
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup black walnuts, coarsely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening with a mixer, add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy. Add syrup, beating until well mixed. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and walnuts. Drop by teaspoons full on greased baking sheet. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 4 dozen cookies.

This is another one of my favorite cookie recipes that my Mom made. I remember her cracking the walnuts with a hammer and then how hard she had to work getting them out of those shells.
