Dough:

6 c. flour
6 egg yolks
1 lb. butter
1 yeast dissolved in lukewarm milk (1 1/4 c)
1/2 pt.. sour cream
2 tbsp.. sugar

Nut Filling
1/2 c. sugar
3 egg whites
1 lb. ground walnuts
1 drop vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix in order. Let dough stand one hour. Roll thin. Cut into 2 in. squares. Fill with nut or other filling.

To make nut filling, beat egg whites. When stiff add sugar and then fold in nuts and vanilla.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Maybe longer. Keep an eye on them. I think it makes 7 or 8 dozen cookies.

Grammy Poswistilo dictated this recipe to me on March 20, 1983. She did not follow a written recipe, as far as I know. I actually never tried to make them. Maybe one of these days I will give it a try.
