1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Frosting:
1 pound powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. shortening
1 tbsp. butter
milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together: flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and sugar.
Cut in the shortening. Then blend in egg, milk, and vanilla.
Cover mixture with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 400ºF
Roll out on floured surface to 1/16" thickness. Cut with cookie cutters.
Bake for 6-8 minutes.

Blend all of the frosting ingredients together until well blended.

Add any sort of food colorings to the frosting to make decorating extra fun. If you want chocolate, melt bittersweet chocolates, slightly cool, and add to the frosting.
