Ingredients:  
4 Cups flour, sifted (Cake flour is best, but all-purpose is acceptable)
1 1/2 Cups Crisco
3 Cups Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Baking Powder
3/4 Cup Milk, (cold)
1 Cup Egg Whites (it's okay to use whole eggs, cake will have a pale yellow color)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325º
2. Sift Flour, Salt and Baking Powder together
3. In mixer, cream together Crisco and Sugar
4. Add Flour mixture and Milk a little at a time, alternating
5. Add Egg Whites
6. Mix at slow speed for 3 minutes, scraping bowl half way through
7. Pour batter into greased and floured pan
8. Bake at 325º for 1 1/2 hours, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean
