Ingredients:
These are light and fluffy and can be filled with meat and baked or can be eaten plain.

41/2 cups water
2/3 cup sugar
1 cup oil
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp yeast (traditional)
9 - 10 cups flour

Meat filling for dinner buns:
2lbs lean ground beef
1 large onion chopped fine
Salt and pepper and seasoning to your taste or 1 pkg of onion soup mix

Directions:
Directions:
In one cup warm water, stir in one tsp sugar, sprinkle yeast in water. Let rise to double in size - about 10 minutes. Use a 2 cup bowl or cup. Measure about 4 cups of flour in mixing bowl, add sugar and salt, than add 3 1/2 cups of water, 1 cup oil and mix until smooth. Next mix in risen yeast and continue to add flour slowly until you have smooth and elastic dough - I always save a couple of teaspoons of oil to finish kneading the dough - the dough is not too hard. Let rise in a warm place until double in size. Knead and let rise again. Then shape into balls and place in muffin pans or on a cookie sheet. Brush with butter. Let rise until double in size. Bake at 350º for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown. After removing from oven brush with butter again.

Making buns with meat filling:
Brown beef , onions and seasoning. When cooked - add 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/4 c baroque or chilli sauce. Flatten out a piece of dough, place a heaping tablespoon of meat mixture in centre bringing up on sides to form a ball. Place in muffin pans and let rise until double in size. Bake at 350º for 20 minutes. Remove from oven, brush with butter.
They freeze well and are great for lunches. Just pop in microwave. My grandchildren love these.

Personal Notes:
Everybody loves grandmas buns! They are the best,

Note from Grandma: you can knead these bun 3 to 4 times if you want. The more you knead it the lighter the bun will be!
