1/2 cup Shortening
3/4 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 cup canned Applesauce
3 cups sifted Cake Flour
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. grated Orange Peel
1 cup Seedless Raisins
3/4 cup Nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in egg. Blend in applesauce.

Re-sift flour with salt, baking powder, soda. Blend in applesauce mixture. Stir in orange peel, raisins and nuts.

Turn into greased loaf pan 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.

Bake in oven 350º 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool in pan. Frost as desired.
