1 ham bone
2 packages split peas
Chopped carrots

Directions:
Directions:
Place the ham bone in the bottom of a large stock pot. Pour in dried split peas. Add enough water to cover the peas two or three times. Add in chopped carrots.

Cook slowly all day, stirring frequently. Serve hot, and with dollop of sour cream on top if desired.

This can also be made in the crockpot.
