1 box white cake mix (or chocolate)
1/4 cup butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
3 eggs
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 pecans, coarsely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Grease 13x9 baking dish. Set aside 1 cup cake mix for the filling. For crust, combine remaining cake mix, butter, and slightly beaten egg. Stir with a fork until crumbly. Turn into prepared pan, press evenly onto the bottom to form a crust.

Bake at 350º for 12-14 minutes.

Filling:
Combine 3 eggs, brown sugar, syrup, vanilla. Add reserved cake mix, stir with fork just until blended. Some lumps may remain. Spread filling over baked crust, cprinkle pecans (or walnuts) over top.

Bake 25-30 minutes or until filling appears set when pan is gently shaken. Cool completely in the pan.
