Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2/3 c raisins
3 TBS vanilla
1 1/8 c buttermilk
1 egg (preferably a duck egg if you have it)
3 TBS butter
2 TBS sugar
3 1/2 c bread flour
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Soak your raisins in vanilla for 1 hour before making your bread.

Warm your buttermilk in the microwave for 1 minute. Add sugar, stir slightly, add yeast, stir again and let sit until bubbly.

Add in egg and butter and raisins. Do not drain raisins first. Add flour, cinnamon and salt gradually, until the dough forms a ball.

Cover and let rise until doubled.

Either use one very large bread pan or two smaller ones. Form into loaf shapes, place in pans, cover and let rise until doubled.

Brush top of loaf with melted butter if a softer crust is desired. Bake at 350 until golden brown.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This was actually a bread machine recipe I found years ago. It's in the experimental category, because I'm not sure I've made it outside the bread machine. Basically I've found you just need to adjust your flour amounts a bit when converting from a bread machine recipe to regular.

I believe it came from the Bread Machine Magic Book of Helpful Hints.
