½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
(May substitute 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa dissolved in 1 Tablespoon of melted butter for each chocolate square.)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
¼ teaspoon salt
½ to 1 cup of flour (to make brownies chewy, use less flour; to make brownies cake-like, use more flour)
½ cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add melted chocolate, vanilla, and salt. Blend in eggs and mix well. Add enough flour for right consistency. Stir in chopped nuts, if desired.
Bake in greased pan 350º for 20 -25 minutes. Cut into squares when cool.
