2 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
3 eggs
1/2 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
1-1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13x9x2 in. baking pan. In large saucepan over low heat, melt 1 c. morsels and butter, stirring constantly; remove from heat. Add flour, sugar, baking soda, eggs and vanilla extract. Stir with wooden spoon until blended; stir vigorously 25 strokes. Add 1/2 c. morsels and nuts. Spread batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 c. morsels. Bake for 25 to 30 min., just until set. Cool completely. Cut into 2 in. squares. Yield: 2 dozen.
