3 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla extract
4 1/2 cups all purpose flour or enough to be able to roll out cookies.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening together. Put baking soda in a cup and fill cup with buttermilk. Stir over sugar and shortening. Then pour it all in. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Roll and cut. Bake 10 minutes at 350º
