1 pound ground beef
4 T honey
1 c ketchup
1 T liquid smoke
2 t Tabasco sauce
2 pounds pork and beans
1/2 c brown sugar
1 onion, chopped
1 T chili powder

Brown beef and onions. Add other ingredients. Bake in casserole dish 40 minutes at 350º F.

Mrs. James Lewis (Richard Lewis' mother) gave me her recipe when we lived in Johnson City, TN. Doug's cousin Ralph Abel told me honey was better than sugar when cooking beans, so I changed the white sugar ingredient to honey, added some Tabasco, and voila, I had my own recipe!
