1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
4 cups oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Spray or butter 13x9 inch baking pan. Beat butter and brown sugar till fluffy, then mix in corn syrup, vanilla, salt, and oats. Spread in pan and bake 15 minutes. Meanwhile combine the chocolate chips and peanut butter. Spread immediately over bars when they are removed from oven. The heat will melt the chocolate chips. Cool and cut into bars.

One fine afternoon when the kids were little, these were set outside on the step to cool. Unfortunately Timmy didn't see them when he went out the back door. He left a perfect footprint in them haha. Of course we just cut around the footprint and salvaged what we could...waste not, want not!
