"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Baked Beans, by Linda Schleker, is from The Schuldt Family Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
2 (12 oz.) cans pork and beans 4 strips bacon 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/4 c. molasses 1/4 c. ketchup 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
Fry bacon and onions. Remove from heat and add molasses, ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar, mix well. Put beans (I use Bush's Original or B & M) into casserole. Combine bacon mixture with beans. Bake at 400° for about 45 minutes or until bubbly. May be put together ahead of time and taken out of refrigerator about an hour before baking.
