"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon hot sauce
1 tablespoons pepper flakes
1 tablespoons minced garlic

Directions:
Drain pickles. Place pickles in a large container. Pour the rest of the ingredients on top of the pickle slices. Place container in the refrigerator and every few hours stir or toss and continue to do this until the sugar has dissolved and all spices have distributed evenly through out the jar. I normally let these sit up for about 3 days before I place them into the individual jars. Enjoy!

Personal Notes:
You can make these as hot or as mild as you want. It just depends on the amount of pepper flakes you use.
