Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 Cups of Sugar
1 ½ Cups of Shortening
2 Eggs
½ Cup of molasses
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla extract
2 Teaspoons of powdered Ginger
3 Teaspoons of powdered Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon of salt
2 Teaspoons of baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all of the above ingredients together thoroughly. And then separately mix: 2 more teaspoons of baking soda and 4 Cups of flour.

Then add in the 4 Cups of flour and baking soda and mix it with the rest of the batter. Let it sit in the refrigerator for 2 or 3 hours or overnight. Then roll balls of dough that are the size of a teaspoon or walnut. Dip the tops of them in sugar and place them on a greased cookie sheet. Bake them for 10 minutes at 350º F, and no longer than that. They may not look quite done, but they will set and be just fine. Allow them to cool for 2 or 3 minutes before putting them in a tin. To prevent them from getting hard and stale, place a slice of bread on top of them, and also if they happen to get hard, the bread will still help. This is a pretty large recipe and makes a lot of cookies, so it is recommended to only make half of the recipe.
