Ingredients:  
1 c Hard Margarine (room temp)
3/4 c Brown Sugar
1/4 c White Sugar
1tsp vanilla

1 & 1/2 cups white flour
1/2 tsp salt
1tsp baking soda dissolved in 1/3 c boiling water

2 cups rolled oats
1 c chocolate chips
1/2 c chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat margarine & add sugars & vanilla-beating until light & fluffy
Add Flour, salt & baking soda /water until mixed well
Stir in oats & choc chips
Drop onto ungreased pan
Flatten with fork ( or not)
Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes
