1 cup butter
1/2 cup icing sugar
2 cups flour
2 Tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Sift dry ingredients. Add to butter mixture. Knead. You can't knead it too much. Roll to 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Use cute cookie cutters to make shapes. Bake at 300 for about 20 minutes.

Grandma Harris made this hard shortbread, as well as a drop shortbread that melted in your mouth. She kept hers in tins on the stairs going up to the attic so the draft would keep them cool. Gets better over time!
