3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup soft butter or margarine
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour milk or buttermilk For quick sour milk add a little white vinegar to
2 tsp vanilla measured milk, stir a bit.
raisins, nuts, chocolate chips or spices

Set oven to 375°
Cream the soft ingredients well, then add dry ingredient and any raisins or chocolate chips or whatever you like. Sometimes I put raisins, walnut pieces, mixed chocolate and butterscotch chips. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet and bake about 10 minutes.
