2 lb. Ground Pork
2 lb. Ground Beef
4 Onions, Chopped Fine
2 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. Allspice
3 tsp, Poultry Seasoning
3 c. Water
4 c. Boiled, Cubed Potatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Cook meat and spices in water for about 2 hours. Add 4 cups of boiled potatoes. If to watery, drain off some of the liquid with a large spoon or soak bread in excess liquid to absorb and then discard bread.

Make your own pie crusts or use ready made crusts. For a nice shiny top, brush top crust with egg wash. (beaten egg & a little bit of water)
Bake at 400 for 40 to 45 minutes.

There are a lot of different recipes for meat pie. Most French families had their own recipes and this is the way Aunt Polly makes hers. It was a holiday tradition to have meat pie at Christmas and throughout the holiday season. We certainly look forward to having this holiday treat!
