3 eggs
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all vegetable shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla extract
5 cups all purpose flour or enough to be able to roll out dough.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening together. Put baking soda in a cup and fill with buttermilk. Stir over sugar and shortening. Then pour it all in. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Roll out and cut. Bake 10 minutes at 350º
