3/4 c. shortening or butter
1 c. white sugar
1 tbsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 1/2 tbsp. water
4 tbsp. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
2 2/3 cups white flour

Directions:
Directions:
Add first 6 ingredients in a large bowl and cream together. Then add your egg, water and molasses and blend well. Mix your flour and baking soda together and stir into your wet mixture. Form into balls and roll in white sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
