1 box yellow cake mix
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 c. sugar
1 large box (6 oz.) instant vanilla pudding or 2 small (2.5 oz.) boxes
2 1/2 c. milk
1 (8 oz.) container Cool Whip
6 oz. shredded coconut
1 cup chopped nuts

*will need 1 plastic drinking straw

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare cake mix according to package directions, using whatever ingredients are listed on the box. Pour batter into greased 9 x 13 pan and bake according to package directions.
While baking cake, heat sugar and pineapple together in small saucepan over medium heat until sugar is totally dissolved. When cake comes out of the oven, poke deep holes in cake with plastic drinking straw. Pour pineapple sauce over cake. Combine pudding mix with milk to make a pudding and spread over cake. Cool cake in refrigerator. Mix Cool Whip with nuts and coconut and spread over cake. Refrigerate overnight for best results.
