Directions:
Grandma took a big bunch of apples peeled, cored and sliced until the big pot was almost full. Then she added enough water to come to about 1/3 of the pot. She cooked them until they became very soft and easily mashed with her potato masher. Then she added lots of sugar up to 2 cups depending on the size of the batch. She added lots of cinnamon to the sauce (for adults) and only vanilla (for babies). Joyce being the oldest remembers this as she had to help peel the apples.
