Blend first five ingredients. Sift next five together. Blend the two mixtures. Roll into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Don't crowd on tins. Press each cookie with the tip of a teaspoon dipped in cold water making a small indentation. Bake at 350. Watch carefully as ginger cookies burn easily.

This is a recipe that my great-great grandmother wrote in a family cookbook, from her grandmother. I know it's kind of vague, but if you follow as best you can (with some tweaking for personal taste) it makes the best ginger snaps EVER!!!
