"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Ricotta Cheese Cake, by Janis Alsop, is from Cater Cook'n,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 box yellow cake mix 1lb container of ricotta 1 c. sugar 1 t. vanilla 4 eggs beaten
Mix ricotta cheese with sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Prepare cake mix and pour into prepared pan.[9x13] Pour cheese mixture over cake batter swirl lightly. Bake 350* for 1 hour. Cool and sprinkle with powered sugar.
I often serve each piece with a few raspberries and drizzle with raspberry jelly or jam.
