1 onion
Hamburgers:
1 egg
1/2 stalk celery
4 slices of bread
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic
1/2 teaspoon parsley
Hot pepper flakes (optional)
1 pound ground beef
1/2-3/4 cup oil (for 5 pounds meat)
Sauce:
Water, ketchup, barbeque sauce, hot pepper flakes.

Hamburgers:
Mix well and let stand for at least 1 hour. Form into good size thin (not too thin) patties. Deep fry in oil and cook until done.
Sauce: Mix all ingredients and boil for a short time then add the hamburgers to sauce. Hamburgers can be frozen after cooked.

This is Grandma Reggie's recipe for hamburgers served at Pristach's Tavern at 1634 Bailey Avenue. She is Uncle Ed's mother. She made the recipe with at least 5 pounds of ground beef, so adjust ingredients depending on how many hamburgers are desired.
