2 1/4 cup sifted flour
2 tsp. backing soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup molasses
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp. vinegar
1/3 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Measure dry ingredients into sifter. Cream butter with sugar until fluffy; beat in molasses and egg. Combine milk and vinegar in 1 cup measure. Sift dry ingredients, add to sugar mixture alternately with milk 1/3 at a time, blending well after each addition to make a thick batter.

Drop by rounded tbsp 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake in hot oven (400F) for 8 minutes or until centers spring back when lightly pressed with fingertip. Remove and cool completely on a wire rack.

Will make approximately 2 dozen cookies.
