Pour:
3 cups Boiling Water
Over:
2 cups Rolled Oats
1/4 cups Shortening
Stir until shortening melts & let stand 20 minutes.
Meanwhile dissolve:
2 tsp. sugar
In:
1 cup lukewarm water (100 F)
Over this sprinkle:
2 T. yeast
Let stand 10 minutes. Then stir briskly with a fork.
Stir into partly cooled rolled oats:
1 1/2 cup molasses
4 tsp. salt
Cool to lukewarm.
Add softened yeast to the lukewarm rolled oats mixture. Stir.
Beat In:
2 1/2 cups flour
Beat vigorously.
Gradually beat in with mixer:
5 1/2 -6 cups flour
Knead 8-10 minutes

Directions:
Directions:
Let rise in a warm place for 1 1/2 hours
Beat down. Make into 4 loaves.
Let rise another hour.
Bake 375 for 20-35 minutes depending on your oven.
