1 cup shortening, soft
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, brown sugar and eggs. Stir in milk. Add flour, soda and salt mixture and blend well. Chill for 1 hour. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 min.
