3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teas. baking soda
1/2 teas. Salt
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup soft shortening or margarine
1 egg
1/2 teas. Vanilla
1 1/2 cups quick oatmeal
1/4 cup chopped pecans
Chocolate kisses or chocolate bars
Pecan Halves

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together flour, baking soda and salt.
Add sugars, shortening, egg and vanilla. Beat until smooth - about 2 mins.

Stir in oatmeal and chopped pecans.

Shape dough into 2 - 12" rolls, wrap in plastic wrap and chill thoroughly.

Slice. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake in 375º oven for 10-12 mins.

Remove from oven and immediately place small square of milk chocolate bar on each OR 1 chocolate candy kiss.

Return cookies to oven for 1-2 mins to soften the chocolate.

Press pecan half onto chocolate. Cool completely on wire racks.
